Flint Plantation, LLC is a small, privately held, timber plantation located on the banks of the Flint River in Western Central Georgia. We operate a sustainable silvopasture operation, raising a breed of heritage cattle known as Pineywood, in conjunction with timber. Our diversified timber holdings, consist of a near equal mix of pine and hardwood. We have a considerable amount of older loblolly pine (pinus taeda) but are replanting with longleaf pine (pinus palustris). Our cattle roam freely and graze year around in our timber stands, foraging on native grasses, forbs, and legumes.
Flint Plantation works closely with several important organizations to assure our customers that they are receiving the highest quality product. These organizations include The Longleaf Alliance, The Livestock Conservancy, Pineywood Cattle Registry and Breeders Association, and Animal Welfare Approved.
We also receive assistance and invaluable guidance from the Georgia Department of Agriculture, the United States Department of Agriculture, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, and the Georgia Forestry Commission.
